You Wont Get It Until You Get It

We have all heard of the elusive but much coveted AHA moment, where for whatever reason a person who has weight to lose or other obstacles to overcome just GET IT. Some people call it their AHA moment where the proverbial light pops up and on above their head and they suddenly understand what it takes to get what they want and they are unstoppable in achieving it.

Well, I thought I would shine a little (no none sense nor feel good nor sugar coated) light on the AHA moment. You might think you have had your aha moment, but if all you do is 'think' you have had it, than you haven't. Once you have had a true AHA moment, there will be no doubt in your mind about what you experienced and how to go forward.

While the desire to be X (thin, healthy, ripped, buff, skinny, small, petite, beautiful, sexy, whatever) may be your ultimate goal in losing weight, your AHA moment will provide you with the motivation beyond that. It will provide you with the MENTAL tools to turn your journey from a 'torturous, tedious, limiting, rigorous, exhausting DIET', into a fun, exciting, limitless, invigorating and energy producing lifestyle of HEALTH.

And make no mistake that when I said your AHA would give you the MENTAL tools that I meant it would be some magic brain formula that would make you skinny, sexy etc. Your AHA moment will allow you to see beyond the superficial of 'what I want now', to 'what I want most'. And ultimately, whether you believe it or not anyone who desires to be thin, ripped, buff, skinny, small, petite, beautiful, sexy, or whatever wants to be healthy. Because honestly, if exercise and healthy foods made us all of those things but provoked cancer or diabetes or any of the other things that being obese causes, there is NO WAY IN HELL we would want to be those things. It just would not be worth it. But eating healthy, and exercising DOES MAKE US HEALTHY. And there is nothing more beautiful or sexy or desirable than a strong, fit, healthy human being.

Healthy is a very vast term though. It doesn't just mean your body. Yes, diet and exercise help all your body's systems to perform at their best capability. But it also and most importantly applies to your MENTAL HEALTH which stems out to your EMOTIONAL HEALTH.

Once you experience your AHA moment, your mentality toward exercise and eating healthily will no longer be a task, a chore or something you 'have to do'. It will be something you WANT to do because the benefits of doing it will far outweigh in instant gratification of eating that cupcake or that candy bar or those chips. NOT EXERCISING will make your body ache and protest because IT WANTS TO MOVE.

Mostly, you will be motivated to do not what 'just feels good in the here and now'. You will be motivated to do what will essentially feel good now (because your new found attitude toward life will tell you it feels good now) and forward onto eternity (the rest of your life)

I hope everyone experiences the AHA moment. It is truly enlightening.

LIVING HEALTHILY AND FITFULLY IS NOT ABOUT LIVING PERFECTLY.

You don't have to eat perfectly 100% of the time. You don't have to exercise tirelessly every day of the week. You decide what is good for your body, what makes you feel strong and powerful and in control. You decide what foods to eat when and on occasion indulge when there is a reason to. Not just because you feel the compulsion.

IT IS ABOUT DOING WHAT IS GOOD FOR YOUR BODY AND GOOD FOR MIND BECAUSE YOU WANT TO DO IT, BECAUSE IT MAKES YOU HAPPY TO DO IT AND BECAUSE YOUR QUALITY OF LIFE (which extends into the quantity of life) IS NOW THE VERY MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF ... YOUR LIFE.

  1. Extremely inspiring. I've had several AHA moments throughout my life but it wasn't until the final one that something clicked and I dug deep and did it :)

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
